I survived a car trip with a 5 month old!

This past weekend we went on our first family roadtrip. Late Friday morning, we headed upstate to go to Alicia's wedding. Along the way, we stopped at our favorite Mobil rest stop to give Luke a break from the car and to refuel ourselves.

Due to traffic/construction/traveling with a baby, I made it up to the wedding just in time and I actually had to change in the car! But it was a wonderful wedding and Alicia looked fantastic. Her and Geoff seem so much in love too...so cute!

Luke spent his first night in a hotel and hung out there with Stevo while I was at the wedding. Both boys were exhausted from the trip and were asleep by the time I got back.

Then Saturday we headed over to Mechanicville to see Laura and Keith's house that they are building. It is such a nice house and they are doing a great job with the construction and decorating. We can't wait to see it completed and hopefully, Keith will let Luke stay over...lol

After Keith and Laura's, we headed over to Lisa and Eric's so that we could meet Cooper who arrived last month. Although Cooper and Luke were instant BFFs and Luke even gave Cooper his first beatdown, it turned out that Luke had a much stronger love for Buckley. Lisa and Eric are lucky that we didn't stash him away in Luke's diaper bag. Luke also got to meet Sarah and Frankie who were on their way to a wedding.

"Huh?! What?!? I didn't do anything...see I've got my hands to myself!"

Luke and Stevo at another rest stop - Luke had a monster stinky diaper...even the flies came around to check it out.

Later that night after arriving in Norwich, we went out to dinner at Brooks BBQ with my parents, Aunt Marie, Trina, and Dave & Kathy (my dad's cousins).

Luke was a big fan of Fred's Inn even though we froze him out with the air conditioning. His poor hands and feet were like icicles when we woke up in the morning.

Sunday morning we headed out to Owego for the Prindle/Nelson family reunion...there was a small turnout (nothing like I remembered from when I was little) but Luke did get to hang out with Aunt Marie and my parents.

Being cute is hard work so Luke took a nap on Mom

Later on, we saw this man walking these strange animals. At first I thought that they were lemurs but they were some other weird animal...I will have to look up what they were and edit this post later.

We decided to leave from the reunion and head straight home since we were close to the main highway. The car ride home was hellish. What should have been a 5 hour car ride turned into a 9 hour car ride. We hit every construction site imaginable and all sorts of traffic once we got near the city. Needless to say, all were exhausted by the time we got home. Luke was such a trooper though and I was able to keep him somewhat entertained in the back. Here is a pic of him as we were crossing the Tappan Zee bridge...

"How much longer do we have to drive?!?!?!"
