A petting zoo @ our house?!?!?!?

The day after we got home from DC, we were just hanging out when there was a knock at the front door. Stevo went to answer it since I knew it wasn't anyone we knew (no one comes to the front door) and came back and asked me if I noticed the petting zoo in the back yard. Now at first I got excited thinking that Stevo had hired a petting zoo for Luke...then I noticed the 7 sheep and goats in our back yard. Apparently 8 sheep and goats had escaped from a someone's yard two days prior and had been roaming around in Greenport. A lady noticed them walking/running down the street and managed to herd them into our backyard which just happened to have the gate open at the time. Now mind you, I was sitting with my back to a huge window that overlooks our back yard and didn't notice this at all!

Needless to say, we had to get pics and it was crazy trying to get them out of our yard but it is definitely something we will always remember.

Now there was one billy goat still missing and rumor has it that is what the "Montauk Monster" Part 2 that showed up in Southold was...you be the judge...

Washington DC

We spent Easter weekend in DC with Nana and Poppy (or PopPop or whatever he wants to be called). It was a lot of fun and a lot of walking! Nana and Poppy took the train down and we drove and met them there. We decided to turn the carseat around so that it would make the car ride more bearable for Luke. The trip actually wasn't too bad driving down although it did take us forever to go about 4 blocks once we got into DC. Apparently the DC area schools were also off so most of the museums/zoo/restaurants were packed! We still managed to go to the Smithsonian, the Air & Space Museum, took a tour of the Capitol, walked to the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial and went to the DC zoo.

First night walking home from dinner:

Emma's baptism

We celebrated Emma's baptism in early April. It was a beautiful day out so all the kids were able to play together outside. Here are some pics from the day!

The pageant...

Back in September, we entered Luke into a pageant on Long Island. Although Luke didn't win, he did place and won a trophy. Here is a pic from Septembers competition:

So because he placed, his entry fees were paid in full for the national competition in CT. So Nana, Luke and I headed up one saturday at the beginning of April to the Internation Prince and Princess pageant. It was a stressful and long day and I may have snapped one or two times at Nana but in the end, it was fun and Luke hammed it up on the stage/runway. He won 1st place for his Tiny Baby Boy division (3 mos - 17 mos) and also won Best Dressed and placed runner up for Best Model. We just got the pictures back from the photographer that was there so once I scan them in, I'll post them on here. Here are a few that we snapped from the day.

Luke passed out on the lobby couch after fighting a nap the whole day! he even bit me once!

With his 1st place trophy

And just so everyone knows, he did not win any money. :-( These competitions are more for parents who want to break their kids into modeling/acting. It was a fun time but I don't think that we will do it again...well, maybe...
