Trip to the bird sanctuary

Today we went to Morton Bird Sanctuary in Sag Harbor. We had heard that you could hand feed birds there so we thought that we would check it out. It was AMAZING!!! I really didn't think that we would be able to but they come right up to your hand. The first time one landed on me, I scared it away with my gasps. After the initial shock and amazement, we were able to stand still with our hands filled with bird seed. So cool. Check out the pics and videos below:

Surprisingly Luke did not freak out when the birds landed.

He even laughed when their wings fluttered...

Steve feeding a chickadee

We also hand fed chipmunks (but you're really not supposed to - they say they are getting aggressive if you can believe that).

More closeups of chickadees

Hamming it up...

Cheese!!!

So cute!

Luke and his daddy

Luke says Dada and Mama

So for those who were guessing, Luke said Dada first (sniff, sniff) - this video is not too great of him saying it but you get the point. He loves to talk now and it is so cute. Around 0:50, he starts saying it:

And now that he's done saying dada all the time, he is now saying Mama and on command no less...check out this video:

Tuesday ramblings...

There has been quite a bit of random happenings in the past few weeks so here goes:

Lani was home for Columbus Day weekend and Luke had fun playing with her. Although he did not pee on her like last time, it was still fun.

Pee-U!!! Stinky feet...

hanging out on Lani's lap...(not peeing on her)

Cheese!

I also had some fun making Luke laugh and thought that he was already a photo ham b/c although I held the camera to the side of him, each time that I was taking the picture, he looked at the camera. I was mentioning this to Stevo and my mom when Stevo reminded me that my camera flashes a red light...guess that is what caught Luke's attention. Oh, well...the pictures are still fun!

We also had a visitor in the garage for a night or two. He definitely caused some mayhem and destruction. Poor little guy...

Can you spot him?

Cheese!!!

I'm outta here...

Aunt Mimi and Aidan came over for dinner a few weeks ago and it was so nice. Aunt Mimi got to feed Luke and he loved it...

Open wide!!!

Last year when I was pregnant we got this costume for the baby figuring that they would fit in it for this Halloween...we did not count on our chunker and therefore, it doesn't fit. But I still had to get pictures of him in it.

Doesn't he look cute? Notice the drool string?

Luke is pretty sure that he does not like this costume...

We did get a costume for Luke and it is so cute...make sure to stay tuned for photos of him in it. Also, stay tuned for some teeth shots. Remember how four months ago, I posted this? Well, needless to say, we still do not have any teeth but Stevo and I both swear that they are coming. His gums are super swollen and I really feel that if I pressed hard, they would pop through. I can't wait to get pics of those chompers. :)

Happy Birthday Nana!

This past Saturday, Nana and Poppy came over for dinner. Stevo made his delicious stromboli and we made a waffle for Luke. He loves finger foods now and I guess I should have been giving them to him sooner. The only problem is that you have to give him two pieces at a time otherwise he puts them all into his mouth. :) After dinner, the rest of the family came over for cupcakes and cake. It was yummy and Luke had fun playing with his cousin (even if she did not share her puffs very well).

"How old are you now Nana?"

Emma looking pretty in her outfit

Grace taste testing the frosting...

Checking to make sure Bella is not around...

Hmmmmm, frosting...

Finger-licking-good...

Yum-O!!!

Luke trying to keep up with Grace...

Luke loves Eddie too!

I guess that Luke is a dog lover through and through. Check out the videos of him laughing at Eddie's "bark" which sounds more like a seal than a dog. :)

Need a good dose of laughter?

I figured its been a while since I posted a video of Luke laughing so here ya go:

Luke's fall experience

Thursday Stevo was off for a jewish holiday so we decided to go pumpkin picking with Luke. Mainly it was just to get a photo shoot in though b/c the place that we were going to was expensive and you all know that we are frugal. My cousin, Emily was giving pony rides at the place but since they require a helmet and Luke was not liking that, we just got some shots of him sitting on the horse. I think they came out cute. Hope you enjoy them!

Um, how far apart are my legs supposed to go?

Yee-haw!!!

Hmmm, this ain't so bad...

I can even ride one-handed...

Riding horses is tough work...I need a break...

Hey there!

Hmmm, what are these things?

I wonder if I can eat this?

Sitting pretty...

Alright...enough...let me out!

Chewing on straw like a real cowboy...

Examining straw (not like a real cowboy)

Hey this is really fun!

Look at me!

The next Michael Jordan?!?

Do we have the next Michael Jordan in our midst? You be the judge...

Luke's new hat

I know that I promised new slideshows but it is taking forever to upload the albums. Get ready for the email with those this week. Here is a teaser with Luke's new hat. So cute!!!

September catching up...

This month was quite a busy one...we had a few photo sessions which I will show in a bit but let me give you a brief description of what happened during this past month.

Luke is officially crawling:

Luke is officially pulling up/standing up:

Luke went to his first "rock" concert (unless you count him going to Justin Timberlake while in utero):

He went on the carousel for the first time:

He went to his first Maritime Festival:

I also went back to work (sniff, sniff) but it is just part-time until November. So Luke has started going to his sitters. So far, he loves it and has already made buddies with the one year old that goes there too. :)

I will be adding a slideshow later on today as well as some other photos but just wanted to update for September before we got too much further into October. ha ha...
