For the past couple weeks, Luke has been showing more and more interest in our eating. He will follow your fork from the plate to your mouth very intently and since this is one of the signs to start solids (along with some other signs that he has shown), we decided to give him a try. Let us know if you think he liked it...

Signs that Luke may be teething...
Below are a few pictures/videos that demostrate my belief that Luke may be teething. I am amazed at how he wants to suck on everything (as you will see below) and I just know that he has probably ingested a small dog's worth of pet hair because of this already so I guess we can assume that he will not have pet allergies later in life. And although there are no pearly whites breaking the surface yet, we know that it is only a matter of time before they do.

And finally a video to go along with Luke sucking on Stevo's bones...

Marist vs. Siena - the fight for Luke's education begins
One of the women that Stevo teaches with has a son that is going to Marist next year so when they went up for a visit, they brought back a shirt for Luke. Thank goodness that Karen L's daughter, Brittany is going to Siena next year (Go Saints!) and has agreed to pick Luke up some Siena gear when they go up for orientation next month. There was no way that I would allow Luke to have Marist gear and not Siena even though he looks quite cute in it.

And lets not also forget that Lani already bought Luke a Sacred Heart onesie before he was even born. Don't worry Lani, he is almost fitting into it even though it is size 12 months!!!

Father's Day (a little late)
Sunday was Stevo's first father's day and I gave him a polo shirt that matched one that he already had so that they would have matching outfits for the day. They were SO cute! See the pic below:

We went to my parents' house for a bbq and Luke had fun playing with his big cousin, Grace in the ball playpen.
"Here ya go Luke," says Grace.

"Actually, I think I'll keep that one," says Grace.

"I'm getting out of here," says Grace.

"Are you coming Luke?"

"Nah," says Luke, "I think I'll just chill here."

Luke + Bella = BFF 4EVA
Luke is really starting to notice his surroundings and has been getting a real kick out of Bella lately. He will smile at her and laugh at her when she comes in front of him especially when I have him sitting up on my lap. Of course, Bella loves this extra attention that we give her b/c we are constantly calling her over so that Luke can see her and try to touch her. Poor Bella...she used to be #1 around here.

Devil baby...
Sometimes when Luke is overtired, he fights sleeping really bad. It is frustrating for us b/c we know that he wants to sleep but he does everything in his power to not sleep. So if all else fails, we will give him a bottle and he is usually out in 30 seconds. But once you get the bottle in his mouth, he does this possessed eye roll thing where you can see the whites of his eyes and he rolls his eyes all around...it is actually a little creepy...and being the nice mom that I am, I got it on film. Enjoy!

A 100% roller caught on film...
So we finally caught Luke rolling 100% of the way over...Enjoy the clips and don't mind the background noise. We had to bribe him with Spongebob on the tv! ha ha!

Family outing
Tonight the whole family (Steve, Luke, Bella and I) took a walk "downtown" to get some coffee and a little exercise. It was a nice walk and Bella is surprisingly not freaked out about walking near the stoller like I thought that she would be. She is still not the greatest walker but we already knew that. Here are some pics of us @ Mitchell Park (near the carousel) - finally a pic of Luke and his mom!!!

We have a roller...
So Luke has been toying with the idea of rolling. He will get most of his body over from back to front but will leave one leg behind or just twist his torso over. It is very frustrating for us and all you want to do is help him along. But today he got all the way over (from back to front). He was playing with us again by keeping one of his arms under him (as seen in the video below) but finally propped himself on his elbows and was a 100% roller! We are so proud and so scared...no more leaving him alone on the changing table!!!

Luke's first visit out of New York
This past Saturday, Steve, Luke and I (along with Nana Jana) went to Conn. for Luke's buddy, Gavin's 1st birthday party. It was a great party and was so much fun to see the whole McCabe bunch. Also Chrissy's family is like a second family to me too so it was fun to show Luke off since most haven't met him yet. Luke got Gavin a Little People Animal Sounds Farm

Luke's 4 month appt
Luke had his four month pediatrician appt today and came out of there like a champ. His weight is 17 lbs, 15.5 ozs - Yes, that is 1/2 oz away from 18 lbs!!! I was shocked b/c I was estimating his weight at around 17.25 lbs. We sure have a big boy on our hands. He also grew 1.75 inches since his last visit which puts his length/height at 26.5 inches.
Also, Luke got two shots today and one oral vaccine. The pedi gave him the oral vaccine first and it has some sort of sweetener in it which must be like a natural high for Luke b/c he didn't even peep when she gave him a vaccine shot in each leg. I had to ask her if she had actually given him the shot b/c he didn't cry at all. Such a good boy...
And finally, on the pedi's recommendation, Luke is going to wait until next month to start solids since he is doing so well the way he is now. No need to hurry...especially since I am not looking forward to his diapers once he does start solids...they are stinky enough!!!

Luke's new friend has arrived!
Just when I was started to get nervous that Lisa S (from Siena) was getting annoyed by my repeated messages and I was going to post on this blog to try to reach her, I got an email today that her adorable son, Cooper entered this world last Monday, 5/26 weighing in at 7lbs 12 ozs and 20 inches long. From what I read on her family website (which is fantastic btw), baby Cooper is a very good baby and actually had to be woken up his first night home to eat which is a far cry from the way that Luke was. Luke is very excited about this news and hopes that when we go upstate in July that we get to meet him. Or if the family wants to visit LI for a holiday, they are always welcome (Buckley included - Bella needs a man)! Congrats and can't wait to hear all about Cooper's arrival!!!
