All of my baby books and all of these moms online talk about how a baby needs lots of tummy time in order to build up their neck muscles (especially since all babies are to be put on their backs for sleep). Some books recommend putting them on their bellies like 8-10 times a day! First of all, I don't have the time to remember to put him on his stomach 10 times a day nor does Luke like being on his belly as you will be able to tell from the below video. And besides, I'm not too worried since he has been able to hold his head up since day #1...he was practically a 3 month old when he was born anyway...

Speaking of photoshoots
So I ordered some photo prints from this new website called Arts Cow. I was a little hesitant at first b/c it seemed too good to be true but after placing my first order and receiving them, I think it is true. Also, I liked that you can pay with PayPal b/c I felt like it was more secure. Plus they have this deal going on for new customers where you get 200 free 4x6s and 200 free 5x7s (spread out over a few months - 50 each a month for 4 months) plus a free photo book.
So I received my first set of free prints (50 4x6s and 50 free 5x7s) - I only paid $9.88 for shipping and received them in about a week. I ordered the photos from Luke's photoshoot last week and I have to say that the print quality is pretty decent - the only problem that I had is the dark areas of a photo are pretty dark but I didn't do much retouching of the photos before I uploaded them so that could've been my problem.
Anyway, for any of you that are interested, click HERE to sign up and get your free prints and this way I can get some free prints too. They also sell all of the regular photo gifts like mugs and calendars plus some other weird stuff. Enjoy!

Second photoshoot
Yesterday we had our second Monday photoshoot...the pictures were not as fantastic as the week before but still came out pretty nice. Also Aunt Mimi came to visit us which was nice. Check out the pics below:
One of Steve's students got this onesie for Luke - doesn't he look cute in green?

I was only able to get three pictures of him in the green onesie before he spit up all over himself so it was time for some future embarrassing photos...look at those rolls?!?

Tummy time is not a hit with Luke - notice him trying to eat the blanket?

I also think that Luke might be teething b/c he is starting to drool a lot and constantly has his hands in his mouth - wha'd'ya think?

Take a look at this picture and the next one - I don't even think they look like the same baby, do you?

Crap napper...
Luke has officially earned a title of crap napper but he is still sleeping through the night so I'm trying not to complain too much. We (I mean he) used to take 2-3 hour naps in the afternoon. Now I am lucky if I can get him to take an hour nap in the morning and a few 20 minutes naps in the afternoon. I'm hoping that this is not a permanent thing b/c I miss those afternoon naps. He is also still sleeping in the bassinet b/c I am too lazy to transition him to the crib. Oh, and I am still sleeping downstairs next to him. I love the bed downstairs and am thoroughly enjoying having the whole bed to myself (as I'm sure Steve is too). I am going to try to make the switch this weekend...wish me luck!!!

First major photoshoot
This past week (at Steve's suggestion), I dusted off my Nikon 8 mp camera and brushed up on the features in order to take some "real" pictures of Luke. Below are some of my favorites. He is so friggin cute, I can't stand it.

Have you ever seen a baby as cute as him?!?!?

OMG - Luke laughing so hard
So Luke and I were hanging out on the loveseat together today and were watching Scrubs while playing when I happened to turn my head quickly and he started laughing hysterically...so I quickly grabbed the video camera and caught the most adorable video that you can see below. Make sure you've got your volume on b/c it is so freakin adorable!!!
Sorry for the poor angles on the video - if you put the video camera in front of Luke's face, he stops whatever cute thing he was doing to look at the camera. :)

Three month stats
So Luke had his three month appt on Friday. I was a little nervous going since this would be the first time without Stevo and Luke was getting some vaccines. But things went well. The pediatrician's office has a young foreign girl take his measurements first before the doctor actually sees him. I'm not too fond of her b/c she is not very personable nor does she offer his measurement numbers to me. Doesn't she know that I am the typical first time mom who has about three different baby books that I am filling out for him and also a blog that needs all this information?!?! Anyway, I strip him down to his b'day suit and put him on the scale...at least I can see that measurement. He weighed 16 lbs, 3 ozs (I thought it would have been a little more considering that I can only hold him for about 10 minutes before I need a rest). Then the assistant measures his length next. She does this by laying him down on the table and making a mark at his head and then making a mark at his feet and she doesn't hold onto him at all. So he is squirming around like a mad man. So she writes down the measurement and as always, I have to ask her what it is. 27 inches she tells me. 27 inches!!! He was only 24 inches a month ago. I was shocked!!! Then she measures his head circumference and again I ask her what it is...44 cm she tells me. Why give one thing in inches and another in centimeters?!? So fine whatever, she leaves and I wait for the pediatrician to come in. So a few minutes later, the doctor comes in and checks Luke over. He is being quite the ladies man during her examination of him so that was good. So then she looks over his chart. "27 inches!!!", she says..."That can't be right!". So she re-measures him and he is officially 24.75 inches...only grew 3/4 of an inch since last month but managed to pack on a couple pounds...gotta love it. Oh and he got one shot which he didn't like...poor guy, the pedi splits up his shots so it seems like he is going to be getting shots each month for the rest of his life!!!!
Not too much else has been going on...I've been going to a "New Moms Group" at Mattituck Library. There are about 3-4 other moms that go with their infants and it is nice to meet them and talk about what is going on with our kids. Luckily, there isn't any competition between us yet but I'm sure it is about to start since some will be rolling and sitting up soon...I'm sure that there will be more to come with that.
I also took Luke to the knit/yarn shop where I took lessons from a few times. I wanted to get some yarn to make him a sweater and luckily both of my old instructors were there. Luke was the hit of the shop and all the old lady knitters wanted a piece of him. He was passed around and ooh and aahed over...it was really cute.
Here are a couple pictures taken last week while Luke was napping...I promise to start taking more!

This ones a little blurry but how cute is he stretching - look at his chest puffed out?!?
