Sleeping routines...
So I'm happy to say (while still knocking on wood and keeping my fingers crossed) that Luke has slept through the night for the past two nights. And not just through the night like last week...he is sleeping from 8 pm to 7 am!!!!! Of course, yesterday morning he may have slept longer but when I woke up and saw that it was 7 am, I shook him so hard to make sure that he was breathing that I woke him up! Its funny because as a parent, you do everything possible to get them to sleep through the night and then get panicked when they do! Here is a pic of Luke sleeping shortly after we brought him home from the hospital. Now is we could just get him to nap better, he would be perfect...yeah right...I already think that he is. :)

Luke's mobile friends
For all of you who have been wondering what makes him laugh and smile so much above his pack-n-play changing table, here you go.

Poor Luke...
Poor Luke...now that we have heard his laugh and have officially become addicted, he does not know the lengths that we will now go to in order to hear it. Check out this video to see for yourself. Just be sure to ignore Steve talking on the phone while videotaping it...God forbid he hang up to tape his son laughing. :)

A slow week...
So there hasn't been too much to report with dear ole Luke. I am happy to say (while I'm knocking on wood and keeping fingers crossed) that Luke is semi-sleeping through the night. We are starting to get into a routine of him falling asleep anywhere between 7-9 pm and sleeping until about 4-5 am. This is fantastic for me!!! The first time he did this was last Thursday and of course, I still woke up at his normal times and had to check his breathing to make sure he was alive. Then I proceeded to wake up each hour after that to do the same until he finally woke up rested and I was exhausted! At least one of us got a good nights sleep.
In some other news...we got a jogging stroller for Luke with some of the BRU gift cards that we had left over. Of course, we had to get the Jeep Liberty one and actually it is not called a jogging stroller...it is an all-terrain stroller. I like that better because it makes it sound more badass and because I don't see myself jogging with it for awhile anyway! Here are a couple pics of Luke's first ride...

Besides this all...not much else is happening. Luke turned 11 weeks old today. It is crazy how time flies. Steve has off next week so we are very excited about that. And I've finally finished addressing all the birth announcements...now I just have to get stamps!
And finally - we wanted to give a shout out to Ryan S in case he was reading this today...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Major meltdown #1
So both sets of grandparents got back yesterday. Mine were back from a short holiday (don't you just love using that term) in Aruba and Steve's parents were back from their condo in Florida. I made the bad mistake of visiting both sets with Luke and we sure paid the price. He missed both of his naps and around 8:00 pm all hell broke loose. He was crying hysterically as if we were pulling his hair out. We have never heard him cry like this but the sound and tone of his cry did give me a flashback to Denver 2005 when Luke's cousin Caroline (less than one year old at the time) cried for an almost two hour ride back from Aspen. I believe that Becky called the cry "Bobcat Kohl-y" b/c of the howl and cat-like snarl that she made. Well, it seems that Luke has inherited that cry. I would've got it on tape but I felt that I should be consoling him and not videotaping him...next time I will though so that all can share in the pain we felt...
The picture below was taken at roughly 4:00 pm. I guess I should've taken this as a sign of the fun to come.

And how do you ask did we finally calm him down? I took a lesson from the tribal women who "wear" their babies all day (and from Dr. Sears...Chrissy's baby bible doc) and put him in my Moby wrap and within 2 minutes of that, he was out. What a lifesaver that thing is...

Nothing is cuter...
I tell ya...nothing is cuter than a baby sneeze. And even though Luke may look like me, he definitely sneezes like Steve! Check out the video...
Also I am trying to get Luke onto some sort of sleep schedule. Yesterday he fell asleep while eating so I put him down in the bassinet. About a half hour later he was wide awake and ready to party. I even think that he answered me when asked if he was supposed to be sleeping...check it out.
As with all the videos...please ignore mine and Steve's voices. Because Luke is so darn cute, we will do everything in our power to get him to smile, laugh or coo. This often requires us to talk in really annoying, high pitched voices that usually make me cringe when I view the videos afterwards. Oh well...anything for a smile.

Kohl Look-alike Meter
While searching other "mom blogs", one of them had this great website that lets you upload pictures of yourself, your husband and your baby and tells you which the baby looks like. So although everyone says that Luke looks like me, as you can see, the internet says that he is 50/50! Too funny...

Of course I had to try it again...here is another attempt with Steve and Ange pictures circa 1995...
