TGIF...

This week was pretty slow in the Kohl house. Wednesday was pretty nice so Luke and I went for a walk to town. We stopped at the health food store to pick up some b-feeding supplements and then headed over to Starbucks. I got another notch on my Mama Bear belt since I changed his diaper in their bathroom. First time changing a diaper in a public bathroom and we both made it out okay even though it was a #2 diaper. I sure felt bad for any lady that went in there after us b/c I'm sure it stunk!!!

We took lots of videos today - check out the best one below. Watch his face after I kiss him for the first time. Priceless...We are definitely going to have a lot of footage to show his future girlfriends. Also, I think that if you click on the video, it will bring you to the video on YouTube and then click on my name (aprindle1) and you can check out the other ones that I have posted on YouTube.

2 month check-up

Luke had his two month check-up @ the pediatricians today. Poor guy had to get 3 vaccines but luckily one of them was given orally. He cried a little bit but was calm by the time we left. I think that I was more upset about it than he was.

The big news of the visit was his weight...for all those that voted in the weight poll, I guess that I should have listed higher weights. Our little chunker tipped the scales at 14 lbs, 3 ozs!!!! I could hardly believe it...Steve and I were both way off. I'm not sure how long he was the last time that we went there so his stats are a little off in that respect but I was also surprised that he had grown 3 inches since birth. No wonder why none of his clothes fit anymore...so of course I had to run to the outlets after his appt and pick up some cute outfits at Carters...but since I love the clearance racks, nothing was over $4. I do love a bargain.

Happy Easter to all!

I hope that everyone had or is having a nice Easter today. We celebrated Easter with Nana and Pop last night with a nice dinner, some cupcakes and a good old fashion game of pinochle. It was nice to have them over and since Pop had some "bidding juice" (aka beer), we actually won the second game.

Today Uncle Mikey, Aunt Keri and Grace visited in the morning on the way to their Easter dinner. Aunt Keri gave Luke an Easter basket filled with all sort of goodies and Uncle Mikey picked out a cool hat for Luke. Grace was dressed in an adorable Easter dress - see the pics below.

Poor Luke though...his mom is so mean and makes him get all dressed up for photoshoots and it sure tired him out. Bella is sure happy that she doesn't have to do it anymore though!

And finally on another note, Luke's pediatrician called on Friday to let us know that the sonogram pictures looked fine and his hips have no problems with them. Just like Shakira, Luke's hips don't lie...

7 weeks old...

Today Luke is 7 weeks old - it is amazing how fast time goes. Luke had his appt to have a hip sonogram today as recommended by his pediatrician. She wanted his hips checked out since he was in a breech position at birth and no one was really sure how long he was like that. He was a champ during the sonogram and although the pictures have to be checked by the radiologist, the woman taking them said it all looked good. So we were happy about that b/c I was worried that he would've had to wear some sort of harness or something like that.

Not much else happened...I tried to take him to Target again but just like earlier in this week he is not a shopper. I ended up picking him up in the store and carrying him around. Mental note to self, bring baby bjorn/wrap carrier always.

And finally, here is a cute pic of Luke sleeping on his daddy's lap.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Although my little leprachaun is too young for green beer, he made sure to leave me a green gift in his diaper today! Happy St Pattys day to all!!!

Luke and his crocs

Despite the fact that I hate crocs, Aunt Mimi bought Luke his first pair. And even though I despise them, they are just so darn cute when they are that small. We couldn't resist trying them out on Luke and can't wait until he actually fits in them. But don't expect to see him wearing them with socks in the winter anytime soon...that is one line I won't cross.

St Patty's parade

Today Luke went to his first parade and loved it so much, he slept through almost the entire thing. Even with the marching bands and the drums! But he did not like the fire engines honking their horns. We met up with Nanny (aka Diana) and Macy and had a nice time. Luke started fussing in the stroller so I put him in the baby bjorn under my jacket and just put a blanket over the top so his head didn't get cold. He loved the cuddling!

Later on, Nana J and Pop came over and we convinced them to go out to dinner. We were a little nervous about bringing Luke out to a "real" restaurant for the first time (as opposed to say Panera) but he was a champ. He fussed for a tiny bit but thankfully I had a bottle all ready and he sucked it down and was out for most of the rest of the meal. I also learned to eat with my left hand while doing so...I think I'm officially a mom.

Luke loves his mobile...

Coo'ing already - I think he's almost ready to laugh...what'd'ya think?!?! He loves the mobile above his pack'n'play (which was courtesy of Lisa S.). It almost makes diaper changing bearable.

My 1st entry

So Luke is 6 weeks old today! Can you believe it?!? I sure can't - 6 weeks ago at this very time, I was having the horrible effects of the epidural wearing off and the pitocin kicking in. Whoever said I was lucky to have not gone into labor was wrong...I just got labor pains after Luke was born. So Luke is doing good, he is going through all the fussiness that 6 week olds do - I've read that this is the peak of it and am hoping and crossing fingers that this is true. Not too much else to report - the St. Patrick's parade is this weekend so we are excited to go especially since his Aunt Keri bought Luke a special outfit for the holiday.
