Luke's first time in the snow...

I just wanted to share a quick video of Luke's first time in the snow. We tried to get him to just sit there so I could take his pick but he had other plans. Too bad, Bella is crazy in the snow. Watch out!

New camera so watch out!

As some of you know, Stevo got me a new camera for my birthday/xmas gift. It is a Canon 40D and I am in love. So in love that I am selling anything I can on eBay so that I can get money to buy a super duper new lens. As you can also see, I'm so busy playing with it, that I have not had time to update the blog with Luke's xmas photos. I am hoping to do so tomorrow. I have been changing the top photo for anyone that has been paying attention. This newest photo is from tonight's bath. The only time I can get focused photos of Luke is when he is trapped in a bath or highchair.

And on another note, I am going to make Luke's YouTube videos private so that only my friends or those with links can view them. I got a sick and twisted comment by some teenage kid who happened upon a video of a baby laughing and it bothered me. So if you have a problem seeing the videos, let me know. There are definitely some sickos in this world!

Christmas card

Just in case you didn't get to see our Christmas card, here it is:

December update

As you can tell from the top photo, we took Luke to see Santa about a week and a half ago. He was great and didn't cry or anything but the problem was that they were rushing us along. Here are three things that they did not know:

1. I am a first time mom therefore I take 100 pictures of the same pose.
2. I just got a new camera and was still learning how to use it.
3. Luke is apparently fascinated by Santa's white gloves b/c it was impossible to get him to look up.

So needless to say, I got a snide comment asking if I was going to take any more pictures...whatever, lady. Merry Christmas to you too! Oh and could you please have waited until he looked up before you took his polaroid. thanks...

We also had a photo shoot at home the next day and while I've been dying to post pics from it, I finally managed to get my Christmas cards out yesterday and don't want to ruin the surprise. Hopefully some of you will get the cards in time for Christmas otherwise, consider them "Happy New Year" cards. :-)

I hope that you all have a fantastic Christmas and I'm on vacation after tomorrow until after New Years - woo hoo!!! So hopefully I'll be able to catch up on posting.

Misc pics from November

Here is a pic of Luke and his new favorite toys - Thank God for takeout...

Can little blue bears play football?

These three pics were taken all within less than one minute - little devil...

Handsome Luke...

On a side note - my lovely husband has bought me a new camera for my birthday. I am drooling over it and cannot wait until next Thursday when I can finally get my paws on it. Be on the lookout for new and improved pictures (hopefully).

Luke's 1st Thanksgiving and other thoughts

Last week was a lot of fun but a little chaotic. Rob, Beck, Sandy and Caroline came out from Denver so we were very excited to see them and for Luke to be able to play with his cousins. Of course, it was a lot of fun and I even managed to recruit Beck to be my Black Friday buddy. We are getting more and more excited about going to visit them in February (but am a little nervous about flying with Luke for the first time). Here is Luke with Caroline and Sandy:

The photoshoot didn't last very long...

Sandy feeding her baby cousin...

Look who showed up at Stevo's parents on Thanksgiving...lucky for it, we had already eaten...ha ha...

We also went to my parents' house and had a second seating for Thanksgiving - Luke got to see Me-ma and we took some pics of that:

I think I'll just hang here, Me-Ma...

And on another note - we are all getting really excited for Christmas...it is my absolute favorite time of year not only because my birthday is two weeks before but also because I love the decorations, shopping, wrapping, eating. I love it all. Hopefully Luke will gain my love for all things Christmas. We tried to get him started early.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

I'm sure that I will have more pics to share later of Luke's first Thanksgiving but I wanted to show you Luke's new "trick". He dances!!! Well, okay...its not dancing in the sense that we all dance but if you are strapped into a highchair, this is how you would dance. Enjoy!

Also, guess who is ticklish?!?!

Bad mommy...

So its been over a week and no updates...I know, I know...I'm a terrible mom or blogger depending on what you are looking for. In my defense, I was sick with a stomach virus this week and was working overtime all last week. Somehow the stomach virus was given to me by Luke's sitter but he didn't get sick. Thank god! He has been pretty cranky lately with a runny nose but I think that he is teething some more. Once he gets in a better mood, I will take some pics b/c those pearly whites are showing themselves for all to see now. It is so cute and can't wait to share.

Not much else is going on, we are excited for Luke's first Thanksgiving and I'm hoping for some good deals to be had on Black Friday. You all know how much I live for bargain shopping!

Can Luke say Bella?

You be the judge (around 0:30 & 0:50):

Superbowl LXXIII here we come

New videos

We've finally found a food that Luke does not like...cottage cheese. And I don't blame him - I think that it is disgusting but I figured that we would have him try it b/c it is a good source of dairy for him. Think he's just like his mama?

Awhile back, Luke's cousins, Sandy and Caroline sent him some of their toys. Twist and Shout Elmo was one of them and we've recently put it into the toy rotation. Luke will either take it or leave it. But this time, he tried to share his binky with Elmo but not for too long:

Its official - we have a tooth!!!

So I had to post b/c we finally have a tooth. After months of saying, "oh, he's teething" when people made comments about all the drooling, we finally have a pearly white. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was posting this. Here are some pics of the beautiful first tooth...mama bear is so proud!

Now that Luke is getting more hair (finally!), we are able to have fun with it during bathtime. Also, please notice how Luke is almost outgrowing the kitchen sink.

And finally, here are some pics of Luke modeling the latest fashions. He is almost ready to rock the crocs but his feet are just a little too short. Thanks again to Aunt Mimi for buying them for him. Remember this?

Halloween...

Yesterday was Halloween and although we did not do much trick-or-treating, we still had fun. Luke looked adorable in his costume:

Hey Nana, you're giving me a wedgie!!!

Stevo and Ange's carved pumpkins...

Here are some more pics from this past week as well:

Posing for the camera...

Hey...is this how big my mom's belly looked before I was born?

If I hold my hands up, they won't touch this tough grass...

Yeah, that works...

Sadly, this was Ange's last week of part-time work. I'm now going back to full-time and cannot believe how fast these past months went. Luke turned 9 months old yesterday...he's been out as long as he was in. I cannot believe that it has been 9 months since he was this "small". :)

Trip to the bird sanctuary

Today we went to Morton Bird Sanctuary in Sag Harbor. We had heard that you could hand feed birds there so we thought that we would check it out. It was AMAZING!!! I really didn't think that we would be able to but they come right up to your hand. The first time one landed on me, I scared it away with my gasps. After the initial shock and amazement, we were able to stand still with our hands filled with bird seed. So cool. Check out the pics and videos below:

Surprisingly Luke did not freak out when the birds landed.

He even laughed when their wings fluttered...

Steve feeding a chickadee

We also hand fed chipmunks (but you're really not supposed to - they say they are getting aggressive if you can believe that).

More closeups of chickadees

A tufted titmouse (hee hee)

Hamming it up...

Cheese!!!

So cute!

Luke and Stevo

Luke and his daddy

Luke says Dada and Mama

So for those who were guessing, Luke said Dada first (sniff, sniff) - this video is not too great of him saying it but you get the point. He loves to talk now and it is so cute. Around 0:50, he starts saying it:

And now that he's done saying dada all the time, he is now saying Mama and on command no less...check out this video:

Tuesday ramblings...

There has been quite a bit of random happenings in the past few weeks so here goes:

Lani was home for Columbus Day weekend and Luke had fun playing with her. Although he did not pee on her like last time, it was still fun.

Pee-U!!! Stinky feet...

hanging out on Lani's lap...(not peeing on her)

Cheese!

I also had some fun making Luke laugh and thought that he was already a photo ham b/c although I held the camera to the side of him, each time that I was taking the picture, he looked at the camera. I was mentioning this to Stevo and my mom when Stevo reminded me that my camera flashes a red light...guess that is what caught Luke's attention. Oh, well...the pictures are still fun!

We also had a visitor in the garage for a night or two. He definitely caused some mayhem and destruction. Poor little guy...

Can you spot him?

Cheese!!!

I'm outta here...

Aunt Mimi and Aidan came over for dinner a few weeks ago and it was so nice. Aunt Mimi got to feed Luke and he loved it...

Open wide!!!

Last year when I was pregnant we got this costume for the baby figuring that they would fit in it for this Halloween...we did not count on our chunker and therefore, it doesn't fit. But I still had to get pictures of him in it.

Doesn't he look cute? Notice the drool string?

Luke is pretty sure that he does not like this costume...

We did get a costume for Luke and it is so cute...make sure to stay tuned for photos of him in it. Also, stay tuned for some teeth shots. Remember how four months ago, I posted this? Well, needless to say, we still do not have any teeth but Stevo and I both swear that they are coming. His gums are super swollen and I really feel that if I pressed hard, they would pop through. I can't wait to get pics of those chompers. :)
